NEWYORK: Newly elected members of the Asian Advisory Council sworn in a Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
The elected members vowed that they will fully serve the Asian community.
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected members of the Asian Advisory Council in Nassau County was held at the county’s 125-year-old historic Legislative and Executive Building.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, the special guest of honor, administered the oath to new elected members of Asian Advisory Council and congratulated them.
Addressing participants, Bruce Blakeman said that the county is home to people of all religions and nationalities who are living their lives in a civilized manner.
He expressed hope that all elected members will fulfill their responsibilities for the welfare of the Asian community living in the county.
After the oath-taking ceremony, the County Executive also administered the oath to Akram Chaudhry, Chairman of the Asian Advisory Council.
Akram Chaudhry expressed his gratitude to Bruce Blakeman and said that Bruce Blakeman not only gave importance to the Asian community but also fulfilled the promises he had made before the election.
Executive Director of Nassau County’s Office of Asian Americans Affairs Aun Naqvi congratulated all the newly elected members and assured that his office would provide all possible support.
Aun Naqvi expressed his gratitude to County Executive Bruce Blakeman and called the representation of the Asian community in the council an important milestone.
