Muslims community in Long Island celebrates Eid Milan

NEWYORK: Muslims community in Long Island celebrated Eid Milan in a unique way.

An Eid Milan party was held at Merrick Golf Club House in Long Island, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The Muslim community members not only from Pakistan but also belongs to other Muslim countries attended the Eid Milan in large number. The unique aspect of the Eid Milan was that the families prepared different dishes at their homes and shared it with the participants of the event and everyone enjoyed the delicious food served to them.

The women got applied Henna on their hands while children got face painting and played various games.

The organizers of the Eid Milan including Mohammad Arshad of Long Island’s fire department, Ayesha Umer, Aniba Rehman, Salman Omer, Adnan Bukhari and Samreen Bukhari brougth together the Muslim community at one place.

Mohammad Arshad and Adnan Bukhari said that they have also tried to do some better for the Muslim community. Everyone enjoyed the delicious traditional foods and sweet dishes at the Eid Milan party.

The participants said that Muslim community should enjoy every festival with zeal and favor.

On this occasion, Anila Rehman and Saeed Hassan, who are among the organizers of the event, also expressed their views. They said that today event was not only an Eid Milan but also a source to bring together all Muslim community at one platform.

The fire department staff also participated in the Eid Milan and said that they were amazed to see Muslim tradition and culture.

The organizers of the event emphasized that everyone should unite and support each other and take part in political and election process.

At the end of the event, prizes were distributed among the participants through lucky draws besides awards were given to various personalities engaged in community services. The organizers took suggestions from the participants for improving the program in next year.
