NORTH CAROLINA: The second annual National Imam Convention, organized by the American Muslim Advocacy Network, has successfully concluded in North Carolina. A declaration issued at the end of the convention urged American Muslims to promote peace, love, tolerance, religious freedom, and peaceful coexistence.
The convention was held under the theme “From the Minbar to the Community: The Evolving Role of the American Imams.” The two-day convention saw the participation of over 50 Imams from 25 U.S. states.
Training sessions, group discussions, and panel debates were conducted at convention. Participants engaged with experts on topics such as the evolving role of Imams in American society, religious leadership, youth development, family stability, community service, and interfaith harmony.
A public gathering titled “Faith & Family: The Future of Muslims in America” was also held, drawing a large number of participants, including men, women, families, youth, professionals, and members of civil society.
The gathering focused on discussions regarding faith, family values, and the future of Muslims in America.

The declaration issued at the conclusion of the convention urged American Muslims to foster peace, love, tolerance, religious freedom, and peaceful coexistence.
It urged American Muslims to present a positive image of Islam, strengthen families, build cordial relationships with followers of other faiths and play an active role in the overall progress of the United States.
The declaration also emphasized the need for collective efforts to eradicate hatred, religious prejudice, and extremism, and to build a peaceful, united, and harmonious society.
A significant development at the convention was the launch of the website and online portal for the ‘American Fatwa Council’—a new division of the American Muslim Advocacy Network.
This platform enables American Muslims to connect with, and seek guidance from, authentic scholars and “Muftis” (Islamic legal experts) regarding everyday religious questions. A hotline and a system for submitting inquiries online were introduced to facilitate the people.
