Asian American heritage month event held in Long Island

NEWYORK: The Long Island Hampstead Town Board and Department of Community Affairs Supervisor John Ferretti organized a colorful event to celebrate the cultural heritage of the fifth annual Asian American community.

Hampstead Town Councilor Zahid Syed played a key role in organizing the event. Groups of community members vividly depicted the culture of all four provinces of Pakistan, including Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan which was appreciated by the participants.

The event was attended by a large number of officials and members of other organizations, including the Pakistani American Community of USA.

General Secretary of Pakistan American Community USA Asim Malik expressed his gratitude to the Town of Hampstead for organizing the beautiful event. He said that there can be no more pleasant feeling than the coming together of different cultures.

In addition to Pakistan, residents of other Asian countries also presented a wonderful display of their culture and heritage at the cultural heritage event.

Participants wore colorful costumes to reflect their national and regional culture, adding even more color to the event.

Later, the Town of Hempstead presented citations to individuals who have made significant contributions to community service in recognition of their services.
