NEWYORK: A very compassionate, beloved and kind social figure of the Pakistani American community in New York Ilyas Chaudhry, passed away. He was 80.
Ilyas Chaudhry is survived by widow, son and daughter.
Ilyas Chaudhry belonged to the city of Arifwala in Punjab, Pakistan. He came to US in 1969 and later settled permanently.
The deceased was one of the founders of the Brooklyn Mela which takes out rally on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Ilyas Chaudhry was beloved by everyone due to his high morals, gentle nature, and selfless service to the people.
The entire Pakistani American community in New York is saddened and depressed by the news of his death.
The community prays that the Almighty God may forgive the late Ilyas Chaudhry and raise his ranks. The funeral prayers of the deceased will likely be offered on Tuesday after Zuhr prayers at the Islamic Center of Long Island.
