Nassau County hosts a grand Iftar to mark holy month of Ramadan

NEWYORK: Nassau County hosted a grand Ramadan Iftar dinner to mark the holy month of Ramadan which was attended by members of the Muslim community, people of different faiths, local officials, community leaders and community figures.

The event aimed to highlight the spirit of Ramadan and promote mutual respect and harmony among different communities.

The Iftar dinner was hosted by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and organized by the Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs.

The event was held at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence, located on the campus of Nassau Community College.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

When the American anthem was played, all the participants stood in respect.

The ceremony was moderated by Nassau County Executive Director of Asian Affairs Aun Naqvi.

He said that today we are hosting the fourth annual Iftar Dinner and are grateful for the arrival of all the guests.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman appreciated the organization of the program and thanked his team.

Senior Advisor Chaudhry Akram thanked everyone, including community leaders, for their presence and said that your presence is proof that we are united and together.

Apart from the Muslim community, people from other religions and cultures also participated in the Iftar.

On this occasion, the importance of Ramadan, the spiritual benefits of fasting and the promotion of social harmony were highlighted. The speakers said that the month of Ramadan teaches patience, tolerance, service to humanity and compassion for others.

During the ceremony, various community leaders and government representatives said that such programs play an important role in reducing the distance between different cultures and religions and understanding each other better.

They emphasized that in a multicultural society like the United States, it is very important to promote mutual respect, tolerance and unity.

New York Police Inspector Adeel Rana praised the organizers for the excellent organization of the Iftar

Pakistan American Community USA and other organizations were presented with certificates of appreciation by Nassau County in recognition of their services

Later, renowned religious scholar Tawasur-ul-Hassan Gilani offered the prayer.

The participants of the event said that such programs not only highlight the spirit of Ramadan but also play an important role in strengthening ties between different communities.

The participants were treated to various traditional halal foods at Iftar.

Later, the organizers expressed their determination to continue organizing such programs in the future so that harmony, brotherhood and mutual respect among different religions and cultures can be further promoted and the message of Ramadan can be widely disseminated.
