NEWYORK: The New York Police Department’s Muslim Officers Society organized the Faith Day and Seerat-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) Conference in New York.
The purpose of conference was to shed light on the life and messages of the last Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The third annual Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) event was held at the American Turkish Eyup Sultan Cultural Center, Brooklyn.
The event was attended by a large number of members of the Muslim community and police officers. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The aim of the Seerah conference was to understand and practice the life and teachings of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In addition, the aim of the Health and Welfare Day was to create awareness about health in the community, so that people can live a physically and mentally healthy life.
President of the Muslim Officers Society, Deputy Inspector Waheed Akhtar, emphasized the need to maintain faith amidst family responsibilities and raised the question of whether we are trying enough to guide our children on the path of Allah Almighty so that the future can be secured.
Police Chaplain Imam Tahir said that family and community disputes should be resolved through gatherings based on the teachings of Hazrat Ali (RA). He said that adopting the tradition of eating and talking together like Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and leaders like Hazrat Ali (RA) is an effective way to understand and resolve issues.
Keynote speakers also spoke during the event which included renowned religious scholar Sheikh Abdul Rahman Badawi. They shed light in detail on the life of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and his moral principles and discussed the importance of the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and his messages.
The event discussed various topics including the life of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), his morals, and his teachings for humanity. In addition, community members learned about health, well-being, and social betterment.
Community members highlighted on the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and pledged to further strengthen their faith. In addition, participants discussed the importance of health and the need to improve their social roles.
