NEWYORK: Pakistan Peoples Party USA organized a prayers reference to mark the 18th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
The prayers reference was held at a local restaurant in New York which was attended by PPP USA President Khalid Awan, Senior Vice President Jamshed Gujjar, PPP New York President Zafar Chatta, Vice President Humayun Safdar, community members including party office bearers and other important personalities.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat Rasool Mabqool in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The event was moderated by Raja Asad who welcomed the participants and highlighted the political services of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
The speakers discussed the struggle of Shaheed Bhutto and her ideology.
PPP USA President Khalid Awan said that Benazir Bhutto always dedicated her life to democracy and people’s rights and her sacrifices are a golden chapter in history.
Khalid Awan also played an audio clip of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to the participants.
Senior Vice President Jamshed Gujjar and President New York PPP Zafar Chhatta also addressed the participants and paid tribute to the services of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and pledged to continue her mission.
The participants expressed their determination to carry forward Benazir Bhutto’s political legacy and her vision.
Members of the community offered prayers and recited Fateha in the memory of Shaheed Bhutto.
Later, all the participants agreed that the memories of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and her mission will always be remembered. All the organizations of PPP USA pledged to continue their struggle to spread Benazir Bhutto’s ideology around the world and strengthen democracy in Pakistan.
