ACMW celebrates its sixth annual day of dignity

NEWYORK: The American Council of Minority Women celebrated its sixth annual Day of Dignity.

Hundreds of women and children from low-income groups attended the Day of Dignity, which included the distribution of warm clothing and fresh food.

The sixth annual Day of Dignity event was organized at Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.

Hundreds of women and children from low-income families came to benefit from the Day of Dignity.

Health First staff conducted various tests, including blood pressure and sugar, on the women and also provided useful advice.

Chairperson of the American Council of Minority Women Bazah Roohi said that people of low-income and underprivileged families were facing difficulties purchasing new blankets and warm clothes for the winter season due to limited income and inflation in New York.

She said that we have undertaken to provide indiscriminate assistance to 500 low-income families with the assistance of our sponsors.

Assembly Member Robert Carroll appreciated the efforts of ACMW for its indiscriminate service to the underprivileged people and assured all possible support.

A representative of Public Advocate Jumaane Williams also appreciated this effort of ACMW.

ACMW’s General Secretary, Ahmed Latif was also present on the occasion. Representatives of other organizations and community leaders participating in the event said that community services are very important for the betterment of society.

Representatives of Day of Dignity sponsors Copo, Health First, and United Health assured their full support in the future as well.

ACMW volunteers actively participated in the preparation of this social activity and the distribution of goods. The organization distributed certificates of appreciation among its volunteers to encourage and appreciate them.
