NEWYORK: Americans are marked the 24 th anniversary of the deadly attacks of the September 11, 2001 with solemn ceremonies in different parts of the country.
The Council of People’s Organizations (COPO) held a ceremony at its office on Coney Island Avenue to commemorate the 9/11 tragedy. The American flag was also hoisted at the building.
Members of various communities, COPO Chairman Mohammad Rizvi, his team members, and volunteers were present on the occasion.
Participants observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the 9/11 tragedy and expressed solidarity with the families. Food bags prepared on the occasion were also distributed to those in need.
