Pakistani government taking steps to regularize pilgrims visiting Iran, Iraq

ISLAMABAD: Federal minster for religious affairs and interfaith harmony Sardar Mohammad Yousaf said government is taking steps to regularize the Pakistani Zaireen (pilgrims), visiting Iran and Iraq.  

Talking to the Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad, the federal minister said the government will soon sign Memorandum of Understanding with Iran for Pakistani Zaireen and employment seekers.

Sardar Mohammad Yousaf said Pakistan will organize international Quran recitation competitions in November this year.

Iranian Ambassador expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property due to recent rains and floods in Pakistan.

He said Pakistan is a brotherly neighbouring country and Iran stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistani people in this hour of trial.

Reza Amiri Moghadam appreciated Pakistan’s extremely important role in war against terrorism and Islamophobia.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on different proposals to eliminate religious intolerance, terrorism, sectarianism and promote interfaith harmony in the world.

Both sides agreed to increase the exchange of scholars and students of religious seminaries for the promotion of modern and contemporary education.
