Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) celebrated at City Hall of NYC

NEWYORK: New York City Hall celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) for the first time in the history of city hall. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that this day should be celebrated like other Holy days.

On the 1500th birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), for the first time in the history of New York City Hall, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) was celebrated. The Milad began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) was attended by a large number of Muslim communities living in different areas of New York City, scholars and religious scholars from different countries.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams congratulated Muslims on the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The mayor announced that a holiday procedure will be formulated for Muslims on the birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The city hall echoed with Darood-o-Salam when Naat Khawans recited Naats in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Pakistani-origin Muslim Women’s Liaison Officer at the Mayor’s Office Atiya Shahnaz said that Eric Adams has enthralled the Muslim community by providing them immense facilities.

The scholars participating in the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) celebration said that God has sent His beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a mercy not only for Muslims but for the entire world.

The speakers said that for the first time in human history, the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) formulated a constitution titled the Charter of Medina, in which all religions and nationalities were guaranteed equity, equality, equal rights and protection.

Earlier, Mayor Eric Adams further said that he had fulfilled all the promises he had made to Muslims during his four-year term and would continue to work for the betterment of the Muslim community in the future.
