NEWYORK: APNA Community Center has launched a 8-week workshop for public school students ages 12 to 21 under the New York City Department of Education’s GenConnect program.
The workshop will continue until September 2. Certificates and stipends will also be awarded to students upon completion of the workshop.
The workshop, which will be held at the Brighton Library, will provide students with a variety of learning experiences in culture, communication, arts and crafts, and advocacy.
Each student can be accompanied by a parent or older sibling as a leader and will be provided with a Metro Card for commuting.
There will be two sessions per week for this workshop, the first session will be held on Tuesday from 2:PM to 5:00 Pm and the second on Thursday, which will last from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
During this time, snacks and lunch will also be provided to the participants.
According to the APNA Community Center, a certificate and a stipend of $150 will be given to a student on completion of the workshop. Seats for the workshop are limited, interested students should register for the next session. This workshop will continue until September 2.
