CHICAGO: Pakistan’s Consulate General in Chicago, Tariq Karim, organized an event on Pakistani culture, media, and creativity, which was attended by prominent figures associated with the arts.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago, in collaboration with Open Chicago, organized a seminar titled “Pakistan in Focus Celebrating Culture, Media and Creativity”.
Founder of Hum TV Mrs. Sultana Siddiqui, various artists and Pakistani American community persons attended the seminar.
Consul General Tariq Karim welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of culture, media and creativity in shaping Pakistan’s global identity.
He stressed the need to preserve and promote this heritage by sharing Pakistan’s unique stories with the world. On the role of media, the Consul General emphasized need of depending own power to shape perceptions and transcend borders.
The consul general praised the dynamic growth of Pakistan’s television, film and digital platforms, noting their growing impact on the global stage.
He praised Sultana Siddiqui for her important work in empowering women and addressing social issues through media.
He said that media is not just a means of entertainment but an important tool for education, empowerment and social reflection.
Referring to the recent Pakistan-India conflict, he appreciated the role of Pakistani media.
The participants of the event also celebrated Pakistan’s culture, the transformative power of media, and the unlimited potential of creativity besides strengthening ties between Pakistan and its residents in the United States.
