Pakistani embassy organizes mango festival in Riyadh

RIYADH: Pakistan’s embassy in Saudia Arabia organized mango festival in which stalls of different varieties of Pakistani mangoes were set up.

Pakistani Ambassador Ahmed Farooq inaugurated the mango festival in which a large number of domestic and foreign visitors enjoyed the aroma and taste of Pakistani mangoes.

The mango festival was organized at a local supermarket in which stalls of other varieties of mangoes including Chounsa, Langra, Sindhri were set up.

Domestic and foreign visitors took interest in Pakistani mangoes and food items made from them and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious flavors of mangoes.

Pakistani Ambassador Ahmed Farooq said that Pakistani mangoes have a unique place in the world in terms of their taste and Pakistani government want to further increase the consumption of Pakistani mangoes in the Saudi Arabian markets.

Minister of Trade and Investment of the Pakistan’s embassy Dr. Shagufta Zarin said that last year there were 110 million tons production of mangoes in Pakistan. She said that after Europe, Pakistani mangoes are consumed more in Dubai, however, we are trying to give Pakistani mangoes access to all major markets in Saudi Arabia as well.

Pakistani citizens participating in the mango festival said that this is a great effort by the embassy of Pakistan and Pakistani mangoes are also a part of our culture and due to this, Pakistan’s identity is further enhanced.
