NEWYORK: An international Muslim welfare organization in the United States Helping Hand for Relief and Development has taken a revolutionary step in the field of neurology in Pakistan and officially announced the establishment of the country’s largest neurology hospital.
Former chairman of Helping Hand and renowned social leader Mohsin Ansari announced this during at a special event held at the organization’s booth during the APPNA annual convention in the US.
A large number of Pakistani-origin doctors, health experts and community leaders attended the event and appreciated the initiative.
Mohsin Ansari said that this modern hospital has been launched in the Gulshan-e-Maymar area of Karachi, and in the initial phase it will cost a $60 million.
According to Mr. Ansari, this hospital will be one of the major neurological institutions not only in Pakistan but also in South Asia, where patients suffering from mental and neurological diseases will get world-class diagnosis and treatment facilities.
He further said that along with the main building of the hospital, its satellite clinics will also be established across Pakistan, so that patients in remote areas of the country can access treatment for neurological diseases.
The aim of these clinics is to integrate steps like diagnosis, referral and follow-up, which will be the first comprehensive effort of its kind in Pakistan.
The doctors and participants present at the event expressed keen interest in the project and termed this charitable initiative of Helping Hand as a “game changer” for the health sector in Pakistan.
