NEWYORK: Empowered Muslim Women of New York held an event at the Long Island’s public library in honor of the graduates of Commack High School, in which the graduates and students were awarded scholarships and certificates of appreciation for their services.
Empowered Muslim Women of New York’s leader Shazia Jabeen expressed her gratitude to the guests.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Speaking at the event, the District Attorney’s representative raised awareness about internet safety and the use of social media, while four-time world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Joe Thompson said that women in society face many difficulties.
Director of the Anti-Bias Task Force Huntington Helen Boxwill, and Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth appreciated the services of Empowered Muslim Women of New York to the community and offered their suggestions.

Shazia Jabeen expressed her gratitude to the team members for organizing the program and vowed to continue the these events in the future. On this occasion, prizes were distributed among the participants of the program through a draw with the support of various sponsors and free school accessories were given to the children.
