DALLAS: Pakistani Ambassador to the US Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has said that Pakistan and the United States will hold dialogue with regard to counter-terrorism soon.
Pakistani Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh was talking to the media at a luncheon hosted by Dr. Rao Kamran, an active political leader of the Pakistani community in Dallas, at his residence.
A large number of Pakistani Americans from different walks of life, including prominent Pakistani-American Democratic leader Tahir Javed and Consul General Aftab Chaudhry, were also present on the occasion.
Pakistani ambassador said that economic and financial relations between the two countries have been started with new dimensions and after the important meeting of Field Marshal General Asim Munir with President Donald Trump, there has been positive progress in the both countries relations and new avenues have been opened.
To a query about any kind of US pressure to recognize Israel, the Pakistani ambassador said that Pakistan’s position on Israel and Palestine is still the same as that of stand taken by the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that there has been positive progress in the negotiations between the relevant Pakistani and American authorities with regard to exempting Pakistan from additional tariffs, but this is a delicate and time-consuming matter.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal participated in the event through video link and informed the participants about the current political, economic and defense situation of the country.
He also explained the details about the new economic and financial planning launched by the Government of Pakistan.
The host of the event Dr. Rao Kamran Ali said that he and Dr. Tahir Javed, along with his team, have planned to make effective investments in the field of information technology, under which artificial intelligence will be promoted in Pakistan. He also thanked the chief guest and other participants for their presence.
