TORONTO: A two-day convention was held under the Islamic Circle of North America in Toronto, Canada, in which thousands of Muslims participated. ICNA two days convention urged worlds community to play its role to end human rights violations in Palestine.
A large number of youth also actively participated in the convention. The objective of the convention was the unity and solidarity among Muslims and mobilization of youth in religious and social matters.
As many as 40 different sessions were held in the convention on topics of religion, social, family and political issues in which eminent American Islamic scholar Dr. Yasir Qazi and ICNA USA President Mohsin Ansari, among others, gave lectures on various topics.
A special program on artificial intelligence was also organized for the younger generation to nurture their interest in modern technology and their passion for learning.
The main theme of the speech was Palestine, which is an important issue for Muslims and the people who love and believe in humanity worldwide. The speakers discussed the ongoing situation in Palestine and the violations of human rights and appealed to the international community to raise their voices in favor of the Palestinian people.
ICNA Canada President Ejaz Tahir expressed his gratitude after the participation of a large number of youths in the convention. He said that this gathering is a great way to connect the young generation with their religion and culture and through such programs awareness can be created among the youth.
An Islamic bazaar was also set up at convention center which include different stalls of Islamic Art, various NGOs, clothing and jewelry. Palestinian handkerchiefs and t-shirts were prominent in the bazaar, while Arab and Pakistani food stalls were the center of attention of the participants, especially Yemeni tea, which entertained the participants.
The participants of the convention said that they have learned a lot from the gathering and will continue to participate in such programs in the future
The two-day convention conveyed a message of unity and solidarity among Muslims in Canada and encouraged the international community to mobilize in this regard by highlighting the important issue of Palestine.
