
NEWYORK: The officers and personnel of New York Police Department have been promoted in various positions including Pakistani-American police officers Noman Malik, Umar Latif and Rizwan Raja.
NYPD held a ceremony for its officers, which was attended by top police leadership, officers and their families.
Pakistani-American police officers Noman Malik and Umar Latif of NYPD have been promoted to the rank of Detectives.
Pakistani-American Inspector Adeel Rana and Commanding Officer Jahangir Ashraf fixed badges on their junior fellow officers.
In the ceremony, another officer of Pakistani origin, Rizwan Raja, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. The Pakistani American officers also cut cake in celebration of their promotion to the rank of detective along with their family and fellow police officers.
Pakistani community said that officers of Pakistani origin in the New York Police Department have made rapid progress and not only the community but the entire nation is proud of them.
