BRESCIA: Pakistan sports club Brescia organized the 19 th Independence Day sports fair in which Cricket, Kabbadi, Volley Ball, Weightlifting competitions were held.
Pakistani community in Italy attended the sports fair who were warmly welcomed by the organizers of the event.
Pakistan defence attaché deputed in Rome embassy Air Commodore Umeer Ahmed Najmi, Consul Brescia Tanveer Ahmed, Chairman sports club Brescia Chaudhry Safdar, well-known businessmen Imran Younus Salimi, Chaudhry Ali Waraich and well-known comedian Iftikhar Thakur and others specially participated in the fair.
On this occasion, the speakers said that all the overseas Pakistanis should work together for the development of the country irrespective of their political and religious affiliations. Organizers of the event that Pakistan sports club will continue to organize such events on the occasion of Independence Day as usual, maintaining its traditions.
Well-known comedian Iftikhar Thakur said that people of the country will leave no stone unturned to defend the homeland when the times come.
Later, participants cut a cake to commemorate the Independence Day. Sports club Brescia distributed prizes and trophies to the winning teams and honorary shields to the guests.
