
NEWYORK: The new traffic agents in the New York Police Department have completed their graduation. One of the unique aspect of the traffic agents graduate was a sixty-year-old Pakistani-American who surprised everyone by starting a job after completing the graduation.
Candidates have completed their graduation to start working as a traffic agent in New York Police. The graduation award ceremony was held at the NYPD headquarters One Police Plaza. The ceremony began with the US national anthem and the traditional band salute by police forces.
This time, more than 40 percent of the new recruits are South Asians and most of whom are Bangladeshis including a 60-year-old Pakistani-American who has set a new example by starting work at this age.
The families of the traffic agents who completed their graduation were also present on this occasion.
Commanding officer in traffic department Mohammad Akram said that it is a good job for the immigrants as there was no need for a green card.
Chief of Transportation Philip Rivera distributed credentials to the new traffic agents.
NYPD First Deputy Commissioner Tania Kinsella also attended the ceremony. Senior police officers said that the traffic police department was not only a public service department but it also has vast opportunities to make a bright future in it. Traffic agents also took oath after receiving credentials of graduation.
