ICC and Nassau County sets up cricket camp at Long Island

NEWYORK: The cricket fever is running high in the cricket fans in the US on the eve of T20 world cup. The International Cricket Council and Nassau County has set up a crew cricket camp at Eisenhower Park.

A training camp set up by the ICC and Nassau County at Eisenhower Park field 2 in Long Island, New York, added the excitement of cricket fans.

A large number of American youths arrived at camp to understand and learn cricket, former England star bowler Liam Plunkett and Commonwealth Cricket League president Ajit Bhaskar also arrived to teach the youngsters about the cricket.

The participants of the training camp was enthusiastic besides differently abled children also received batting tips. Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs Executive Director Oun Naqvi, Parks Commissioner Darcy Belyea and ICC T20 Championship Host Committee’s board member Syed Mohsin Shah said that they had never seen the growing excitement for cricket among the American youth.

On this occasion, the players of Long Island United Cricket Club also encouraged the children.

The cricket fever was running high in America as youth, children, old people are all eager to watch the ICC T20 World Cup matches.
