New York: Pakistan Heritage Day was celebrated for the first time at New York Police Headquarters One Police Plaza.
The ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Quran, Naat was recited for Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. National anthem of US and Pakistan were played. Rich tribute was paid to martyred Pakistani police officer Adeed Fayaz.
The event was attended by Police Commissioner Edward Caban, Police Jeffrey Maddrey and other senior officers and a large number of Pakistani American community representatives.
Mayor Eric Adams addressed the participants and said that the large number of Pakistanis were employed in the New York Police.
Muslim Officer Society President Adeel Rana is an honest and hardworking officer and his future is very bright, I assured to the community that soon Adeel Rana will be promoted from Deputy Inspector to Inspector,he added
Guest tables, lights and decorative items in the auditorium were also decorated with the colors of the Pakistani flag, green and white. Ambassador of Pakistan Masood Khan and Consul General Aamir Ahmad Atuzai expressed their views on the resolution of Pakistan’s national cultural heritage and congratulated the community on celebrating the day.
Qawal performers presented remarkable Qawali of Tajdar-e-Haram and enthralled the audience. Later, prominent personalities of the Pakistani American community, Ali Rashid, president of APAG, Owais Butt, owner of Sweetness Restaurant, and others were given awards in recognition of their services.
