New York: American Pakistani public affairs committee organized a fund raising program for Agosh at Queens,The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Al-Khidmat Global Vice President Abdul Shakoor and Director Agosh Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik made a special appearance at an event. Speaking on the occasion, APPAC Chairman Dr. Ijaz said that the working of Aghosh and Al-Khidmat are praiseworthy whether it is helping the flood victims in Pakistan or for the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza. He said that Al-Khidmat served all the affected people without any discrimination.
Al-Khidmat Global Vice President Abdul Shakoor said that as many as 30,000 children were not only being educated in Aghosh Homes but they were also being accommodated. He said that Al-Khidmat is known for providing relief to people facing difficulties and natural disasters. Agosh Al-Khidmat USA leader Shakur Alam, said that our efforts could not be fruitful unless the grace of Allah is with us. Shakur Alam also recited a poem for Pakistan.
Board member of Al-Khidmat USA Nasir Mehmood said that donating MRI machine for the deserving patients in Al-Khidmat hospital in Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan, will help the poor patients and diagnosis of their ailments. Director Agosh Air Marshal (Retd) Arshad Malik said that relief activities of Al-Khidmat for the affectees of Gaza war was possible with the help of Pakistanis but also those who have the pain of humanity around the world.
Al-Khidmat was on forefront for providing relief goods to war affectees in Gaza through chartered planes and ships side by side helping the marginalized community in Pakistan, he added.
Participants of the event donated generously for the Al-Khidmat Agosh program and one person donated US$50,000 for the charity. Participants offered prayers for the late mother of Chaudhry Ashraf and late brother of Shakoor Alam. APPEC’s fundraising event was attended by prominent personalities and members of the Pakistani American community from various walks of life.
