Britain’s withdrawal from European Union has sparked a tug-of-war over trade interests and agreements. Marine fishing has been a source of dispute between two sides. Britain and European Union have not yet reached a conclusion.
The UK Ministry of Defense has said that if no agreement is reached between the parties. From 1 January 2021, Royal Navy’s reconnaissance boats will patrol British maritime borders and for safety of fishing industry.
It should be noted that present laws provides opportunity to EU boats freedom to enter British territorial waters, which will expire at the end of this year.
According to the spokesman of the British Defense Ministry, royal navy prepared for all kinds of situations, events and difficulties. British vessels will have power to intercept, search and seize fishing boats entering its territorial waters.
Royal navy boats patrol in area up to 200 miles from the coast. 2 vessels will be on patrol while 2 will be on standby for any emergency according to sources.
France has said it will try to avoid any collisions at sea and try to offset the losses of its fishermen.
