Heidelberg, City Parliament Member Wasim Butt of Pakistan appointed Honorary Judge of the City of Karlsruhe for five years
Wasim Butt is the first Pakistani to be nominated for a key post in the German court system.
The Administrative Committee of the City of Karlsruhe has approved Wasim Butt as Honorary Judge of the High Court for the period 2020 to 2025.
Wasim Butt will take the oath of office on October 26. Honorary judges will have the same full rights as other judges in oral hearings and in decision making.
It is noteworthy that Wasim Butt, Pakistani originated from Sialkot is also a German national, and play the role of an active politician for the second time as a city MP.
He is also the Deputy Chairman of the City Migration Council.
