NEWYORK: American Council of Minority Women launched its 18th annual Back to School program as schools reopened after the summer vacation in New York.

ACMW distributed school bags to children outside their office on Coney Island Avenue.

Chairperson of the American Council of Minority Women Baza Roohi said that her organization had started the Back to School program several years ago, which has now become an integral part of every social organization.

ACMW General Secretary Ahmed Latif, Event Coordinator Manager Mehwish Fatima and others also participated in the event.

Hearing about the Back to School program, the children came with their parents at ACMW office.

Representatives of American officials, members of the organization and other volunteers also participated in the event.

ACMW also received support from Health First in this social activity. Volunteers said that it is difficult to express in words the heartfelt joy, happiness and satisfaction felt by spreading smiles on the faces of children.

Parents said that due to inflation, the burden of expenses has increased, and the provision of basic necessities to children by social organizations is less appreciated.
