PAMA announces to hold Brooklyn Mela on August 16

NEWYORK: The Pakistani American Merchants Association in New York has announced to hold a Brooklyn Mela on August 16 in connection with Pakistan’s Independence Day.

This year, the chairman of the Brooklyn Fair will be Mohammad Salman Butt and the president will be Sohail Saeed.

Pakistani American Merchants Association held a meeting at a local restaurant on Coney Island Avenue to discuss the Brooklyn Mela arrangements on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.

A large number of the Pakistani American community participated in the event.

Pakistani American Merchants Association General Secretary Aziz Butt and President Javed Khan announced the election of businessman and filmmaker Mohammad Suleman Butt as the chairman of the Brooklyn Mela Committee, Sohail Saeed as the president, and Malik Ilyas as the general secretary.

They expressed hope that the festival will be successful this year as well.

Brooklyn Mela Chairman Mohammad Suleman Butt and President Sohail Saeed said that this festival is the identity of Pakistani culture in America and we all have to work together to further raise the name and prestige of our country.

The event was also addressed by COPO Head Mohammad Rizvi, ACMW Chairperson Baza Roohi, Newlife Chairperson Rahila Aslam and PPP leader Jamshed Gujjar.

The speakers said that the Brooklyn Mela does not belong to any political party or group but to the Pakistani community and we will all work together to make it successful.

The Pakistani American Merchants Association and the Brooklyn Fair Committee reiterated their commitment to further improve and organize the fair this year.
