US Council of Muslim Organization hosts reception in honor of delegates attending Muslim advocacy day

WASHINGTON D.C:US Council of Muslim Organization hosted a dinner in honor of the delegations visited Washinton to attend Muslim Advocacy Day.

The reception began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

A large number of people associated with ICNA, Council for Social Justice, Council on American-Islamic Relations and other organizations, students and professionals from educational institutions participated in the reception in their honor.

One person also converted to Islam after being inspired by Islamic teachings, civilization, values ​​and traditions and chose a new name for himself, Tariq.

Participants of the event included Congresswoman Judy Chu, a Democrat from California’s 28th District, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, a Democrat from New York’s 7th Congressional District, and others welcomed the participants to the historic building and criticized President Trump’s immigration policies.

The speakers said that the consequences of mass deportation of immigrants would not be good.

A series of sideline meetings continued during the dinner, in which various topics were discussed.

President of Islamic Circle of North America Saad Kazmi and Program Director of the Council for Social Justice Imam Khalid and Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Nihad Awad said that anti-Muslim laws cannot weaken us.

They said that this is the first time that such a large number of young people attended the event and expressed hope that participation of youth will increase in the coming years and we will be able to bring about big change.

Later, prominent personalities were also presented with awards for their exceptional performance.
