NEWYORK: Pakistan People Party USA observed death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in New York and paid rich tribute to the founder of PPP for his sacrifices for the democracy in the country.
PPP USA held an event a local restaurant in New York which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). PPP officials and people from the community attended the event.
Special guest of the event, senior PPP leader Pir Mukarram Ali Shah, said founder of PPP Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed is the name of an ideology and struggle, who played a historic role for the rights of the people. He said that even today the PPP is based on these same principles and is actively working for the promotion of democracy.
Addressing the participants, PPP USA President Khalid Awan called the struggle of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto a beacon of light.
The participants paid tribute to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s political services, his struggle for democracy and his sacrifices.
During the ceremony, women participants also highlighted Bhutto Shaheed’s political insight, public service and his role in raising Pakistan’s prestige at the global level.
The posts of new party officials were also announced and notifications were given to them.
Later, the participants reiterated their resolve that they will continue to forward the party’s ideology and Bhutto Shaheed’s mission.
