NEWYORK: Pakistan has reiterated its firm opposition to the use of chemical weapons by anyone under any circumstances.
The stance was expressed by Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Usman Jadoon at the Security Council briefing on Middle East.
The Ambassador said Pakistan supports calls for universal adherence to the Chemical Weapons Convention and for its full, effective and non-discriminatory implementation.
He emphasized that strengthening the Convention remains essential to upholding international norms against chemical weapons.
