Over 30,000 people attand Halal Guide’s Suhoor and Muslim lights festival in New York

NEWYORK: The Halal Guide’s historic Suhoor and Muslim Lights Festival concluded in New York which was attanded by more than thirty thousand people. A non-Muslim also converted to Islam at the festival.

The Halal Guide Suhoor and Muslim Lights Festival, held at Nassau Community College in New York in collaboration with Bello Farms and Naz Halal Food, which was attanded by not only Pakistanis but also Muslims from all countries, including Bangladeshi, Indian, Arab and Turkish communities.

Thousands of people including men, women and children enjoyed Suhoor with their families.

Halal Guide co-founders Raza Dastgir and Hammad Sheikh said that the number of participants in this festival is increasing every year. They said that we want the Muslim community to be fully represented and small businesses to also receive support.

The participants took interest in stalls of warm clothes, beautiful oriental costumes, jewelry, shoes, bags, perfumes with different fragrances, and decorative items.

Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Aamir Ahmed Atuzai, and members of various representative organizations of the Pakistani community also participated.

They said that this is a unique and historic festival of its kind, and such scenes are rarely seen in any other city in America.

At the Suhoor Festival, food carts with various food items, including delicious dishes, tea and coffee, enhanced the splendor of the event.

Nassau County Executive Senior Advisor Chaudhry Akram said that it is not easy to organize such a big event in such an organized manner and there is hardly any other such example.

The Muslim Lights Festival was also decorated at the Suhoor Festival, where beautiful scenes of the Allah’s Almighty beautiful names, civilization and cultural heritage, decorated images of holy places and lights reflecting different Muslim countries made the atmosphere mesmerizing.

A young man participating in the festival, Alex, converted to Islam, after which the air echoed with the slogan of Takbir.

The participants described this festival of Halal Guide as historic and most successful. Later, prizes were also distributed to the participants through a draw by the festival sponsors.

The festival, which began after the Isha and Taraweeh prayers, continued till Dawn and concluded with the Fajr prayers.
