Cultural Society of Bergen County organizes third Muslim Heritage Month in New Jersey
NEW JERSEY: Cultural Society of Bergen County organized the third annual Muslim Heritage Month celebration at a private hotel in New Jersey.
The event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, which was translated into English and Spanish, followed by the Hamd.
The event was moderated by Saira Gilani, who introduced the Cultural Society of Bergen County, welcomed the guests on their arrival, and appreciated the services of Farhat Khan.

She said that we want to give a message of peace, love, brotherhood, and unity to other religions and nations through Muslim cultural heritage month.
A large number of Muslim community living in the US from different countries attended the ceremony along with their family and friends. The children presented speeches in a unique style and tone, referring to Islamic civilization.
The participants of the event took interest in oriental clothing, decorative items, perfumes, cosmetics, etc which were displayed for sale.
Representatives of Cultural society of Bergen County, a non-profit organization for women, including Farhat Khan, Nadia Khan, Ghazala Chauhan, Dr. Ghazala Arshad and others played an important role in organizing the Muslim Heritage Month.
Dr. Ghazala Arshad said that Muslim Heritage Month is actually an exchange of Muslim civilization and culture.

The organizers displayed literature based on Islamic history and various works of art reflecting Islamic culture were also exhibited, which became the center of attention of everyone.
A quiz program was also organized for children, in which questions based on mental tests were asked on Islam, history, science, literature and other topics. Prizes were distributed to children who performed outstandingly in various projects and were successful in the quiz program.
Earlier, primary and secondary school children presented poems and expressed their feelings.
The event, which started in the afternoon, was attended by members of the Muslim community from all over the state. A food bazaar was also set up for the participants, where delicious and flavorful dishes were served.
Bergen County also awarded Imam Saeed Qureshi, Farhat Khan and Nadia Khan in recognition of their services.
Speaking on the occasion, Imam Saeed Qureshi appreciated the role of the Cultural Society of Bergen County. He said that this event is a manifestation of the unity and consensus of the community.

Members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of New Jersey and various officials of Bergen County also participated in the ceremony. The Cultural Society of Bergen County dressed its guest American officials with shawls.
American officials said that Muslim Heritage Month is an excellent means of enlightening others with their history, civilization and culture.
Officials of Bergen County, New Jersey, expressed their views while addressing to the participants of the event. The speakers said that it is an honor to participate in the Muslim cultural heritage ceremony.
Children and youth were fully represented in the ceremony.
The first Bengali-American municipal administrator in the local government of New Jersey, Antishan Chaudhry, and Councilor Rashid Patel were invited. They said that Muslims play a very important role in all fields including world development, science, and arts.
A band comprising of Chinese Muslims and others performed beautifully and sang beautiful songs, while a Muslim youth played the duff and presented a Nasheed.
Later, Umrah tickets were distributed among the participants through a draw, while the famous Qawwal Sagar brothers performed various sufi poetry.
