NEWYORK: Pakistan People Party USA celebrated the 58th founding anniversary of the PPP in New York. The PPP leaders said that the PPP is a symbol of the federation of Pakistan and always wants to see Pakistan strong and stable, and it will not compromise on principles.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat Rasool-e-Maqbool (SAW). Raja Asad moderated the event.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of PPP leaders, party workers and activists.
Addressing the participants, PPP US President Khalid Awan and New York President Zafar Chatta said that they will continue to follow the principles of their leaders for the survival of democracy.
The special guest of the Foundation Day ceremony and senior leader Chaudhry Javed Akhtar, Senior Vice President Jamshed Gujjar and Humayun Safdar said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto believed in resolving problems through dialogue. They said that the leader of the people gave the country a complete constitution and a great vision.
Not only party workers but also leaders of other political parties including community figures participated in the Foundation Day of the PPP.
The speakers said that the PPP has made sacrifices for Pakistan and democracy. They said that whether the party is in power or in the opposition, the public popularity of the PPP has not decreased yet. They said that promoting political tolerance is very important.
The private hall was decorated with banners, the flags of America and Pakistan, as well as the party flag and pictures of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and former Chairperson and prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, were also displayed.
PPP office bearers and workers said that the PPP is a symbol of resistance in the face of every oppression. They said that Pakistan has never been blessed with a leader like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto again.
Other party workers participating in the ceremony also addressed the audience. The speakers said that the PPP made the people realize their rights. They said that the party has a tradition of love and tolerance which everyone needs to adopt.
Later, party leaders and activists cut a special cake prepared to celebrate the Foundation Day.
