COPO, ACMW hold another awareness seminar for city government project The People’s Money

NEWYORK: The Council of People’s Organizations and the American Council of Minority Women held another awareness seminar for the city government project, The People’s Money. Participants provided written suggestions for various projects that will be presented to the government.

On the importance of the Civic Engagement Commission’s program, The People’s Money, another awareness seminar was organized on Coney Island Avenue in collaboration with COPO and ACMW, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the Naat of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

The seminar was attended by a large number of youth, men, women and elderly people, including COPO head Mohammad Rizvi, ACMW chairperson Baza Roohi.

Addressing the audience, Baza Roohi said that they should identify the basic needs in their respective areas.

Groups of five people were formed in the seminar and their suggestions and recommendations were recorded in a form.

Abdul Faizan, a team member of COPO, briefed the participants on the government budget and urban projects.

He told the participants that through this program, the government wants to know the opinions of the citizens about what facilities the communities need in their areas.

At the seminar, Mehwish Fatima, a representative of Health First, gave a presentation to the participants on enrollment in the state health program and also answered various questions.

The suggestions and recommendations taken from the participants of the seminar will be submitted to the urban government so that the required facilities can be provided in the relevant areas. After voting on these suggestions, the government will take a final decision regarding the proposed program.
