JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan announced on October 19, 2025, in Doha under the mediation of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Türkiye.
The two neighboring countries have also committed to establish mechanisms to strengthen peace and stability between them.
The General Secretariat congratulates both countries for reaching this agreement, expressing the hope that it will restore understanding and harmony, foster mutual trust, advance cooperative and good-neighborly ties, and consolidate peace and stability in the whole region.
The General Secretariat also commends the mediation efforts by the State of Qatar and the Republic of Türkiye in reaching this agreement.
