CHICAGO: Pakistan’s Deputy Consul General Saeed Ali and Mrs. Rubina Saeed organized an event for Pakistanis living in Chicago to farewell outgoing Consul General Tariq Karim and welcome a new Consul General Mohammad Zaman Mehdi.
The event was attended by people from different walks of life, including doctors, businessmen, social workers, Pakistani representatives and other distinguished guests.
The participants paid tribute and bid farewell to the outgoing Consul General of Pakistan Tariq Karim, and welcome the newly appointed Consul General, Mohammad Zaman Mehdi.
The participants appreciated the services, sincerity and love of Tariq Karim and his wife, Ms. Asma Tariq, and said that the services they have rendered to the Pakistani community in Chicago during their four and a half years of tenure are commendable and unforgettable.
They said that Mr. Tariq’s policy and his attitude of equality and love towards everyone made him a Consul General who won the hearts of everyone.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Consul General Saeed Ali welcomed Mohammad Zaman Mehdi and, mentioning his extensive diplomatic experience, expressed hope that he would play a very effective and proud role as Consul General in Chicago.
In his farewell speech, Tariq Karim described the time spent with the Pakistani community as a priceless asset of his life and thanked everyone from the bottom of his heart.
The newly appointed Consul General Mohammad Zaman Mehdi expressed his determination to resolve the issues of the Pakistani community on a priority basis and continue his efforts for their welfare.
All the participants in the ceremony appreciated the event as a pleasant memory and thanked the organizers.
