Mosques should not be built on illegal land, Aneeq Ahmed

NEWYORK:  Renowned religious scholar and TV host Aneeq Ahmed said that a mosque should not be built on illegal and unlicensed land.

Addressing the participants of a dinner hosted in his honor at the residence of senior journalist Asif Jamal, Aneeq Ahmed said that it is the responsibility of the state to provide citizens with a suitable place for the construction of a mosque.

The dinner was attended by journalists, business and social figures of the community. The participants discussed various issues with Aneeq Ahmed, who is on visit to New York, including possible changes in the political situation of the country.

To a question, Aneeq Ahmed said that the tendency of reading and research has decreased in the society. He said that we should look at what the Holy Quran ordered us whether it is social issues or religious matters and we should not create slums in the matter of religion.

He said that it has often been seen that people are criticizing any Muslim person for his character and actions while what should be done is to first see what the religious teachings and orders are.

In response to another question, religious scholar Aniq Ahmed said that overseas Pakistanis living in any country have a lot of love for their beloved homeland Pakistan.

He said that overseas Pakistani want to know what is happening in politics, what the future will be like, what changes can come, that is why they ask questions on every topic but it is also a fact that most of our Pakistani brothers and sisters living abroad do not have complete and accurate information about the relevant field.
