PSNT organizes Quaid Mela to celebrate Independence Day in Dallas

DALLAS: Pakistan’s biggest Independence Day celebration, Quaid Mela, was organized by the Pakistan Society of North Texas in Dallas, in which thousands of Pakistani Americans from Dallas and surrounding areas participated and expressed their love for Pakistan.

Ambassador of Pakistan Rizwan Saeed Sheikh attended the Quaid Mela as the special guest.

Ambassador of Pakistan Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said that the excellent relations between Pakistan and the US are not new.

He said that the day Pakistan came into existence, the very next day the US President wrote a letter of congratulations to Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

He said that Pak-US relations are as old as Pakistan however in recent days, these relations are moving towards heights.

Ambassador Sheikh said that he came here to further strengthen this strong friendship. He said that he came to entrust Pakistani Americans with full authority as an ambassadors as all of you are Pakistan’s ambassadors in the US and we will have to make efforts from here to further strengthen Pak-US relations.

He said that Operation Bayan Al-Marsoos cannot be completed until we economically strengthen Pakistan. He appealed to all Pakistanis living in the US to make efforts to strengthen the beloved homeland at the local level, in this regard, he also assured the community of his full support.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said that Pakistan’s defense is strong and on May 6 and 7, Pakistan carried out a self-defense operation under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and named the operation Bayan al-Marsoos.

He said that Pakistan’s defense forces targeted and completely destroyed 26 important Indian military installations in three hours and 45 minutes.

He said that earlier India targeted the unarmed people of Pakistan and their officials and Indian media kept giving false statements while Pakistan’s defense officials kept informing the world powers about the entire real situation. He said that Pakistan gave a full response on May 7 and the entire world saw that we are not weak at all.

President of Pakistan Society of North Texas Naeem Sukhia thanked the participants and said that when Pakistan means “La Ilaha Illallah” then Allah Almighty will protect it, we should be sure of this, but this does not mean that we should be oblivious to our responsibilities.

Naeem Sukhia said that Pakistani American’s participation and enthusiasm in Quaid Mela organized under PSNT is a proof of Pakistani love for beloved homeland.

Senior Vice President of Pakistan Society of North Texas Abid Baig said that like every year, this year too we have maintained the tradition of Quaid Mela in which a large number of people participated.

Chairman PSNT Board of Trustees Dr. Riaz Haider said that we are celebrating the 78 th anniversary of Pakistan and it is a joy that a large number of people are participating in this program.

Board of Trustees, PSNT Abid Malik thanked all the guests participating in the event and expressed his best wishes for the security of Pakistan.

Renowned singers from Pakistan, Amir Ali and Saima Jahan, enthralled the audience with their songs at the Independence Day Quaid Mela.

Amir Ali sang national songs and the audience was seen dancing to the tunes of these national songs.  The audience including women, youth and especially children kept waving the green crescent flag and were seen celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day with full enthusiasm.

The Independence Day’s Quaid Mela was moderated by Kiran Hayat and Hassan Soomro. The stalls of traditional Pakistani food, clothing, jewelry and other services were also the center of attention of the participants.

ICNA Relief, the largest Muslim organization in America, also organized a free medical camp where the participants were provided with free screening and medical consultations.
