ICNA Relief launches ‘Back to School’ program

NEWYORK: ICNA Relief, the largest Muslim charity in the United States, has launched its Back to School program. School bags and other accessories will be distributed to sixty thousand children in thirty-five states of the country.

The announcement came during ICNA Relief’s press conference on its back-to-school program which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Addressing a press conference in New York, ICNA Relief Northeast Director Arshad Jamal announced the launch of the annual back-to-school program.

To a question, Arshad Jamal and other leaders said that it has become very difficult for the middle class and low income people to bear the education expenses of their childrenin the present  situation of inflation. They said that ICNA Relief is trying to help the needy without discrimination of color or race.

ICNA Relief Hunger Prevention Program Director Ishaq Alpar and others said that various programs in community services are running successfully, in which ICNA Relief have full support from Masajid and Islamic centers.

During the press conference, Aswa Anwar informed the participants that the Back to School Program has completed almost 17 years and has benefited more than one million children.

Earlier, the ICNA Relief team informed the journalists that they have organized several programs for the community in the coming month of August.

They said that their aim is to make the world aware of the true face of the Muslim Ummah through these food pantries, shelters homes and other welfare activities.
