
NEWYORK: Major Syed Ismail Shah of the Pakistan Army, who was visiting US to attend a special course, passed away after brief ailment. The martyr’s body has been sent to Pakistan from New York after offering of funeral prayers at the Mecca Masjid in Coney Island Avenue.
Major Syed Ismail Shah of the Pakistan Army, who hails from Chitral, was in the US on a special course. His health suddenly deteriorated in the past few days, and he could not recover during treatment.
The arrangements for the funeral of Major Ismail Shah were made at Al-Rayyan Muslim Funeral Services located at Coney Island Avenue. Later, the funeral prayers were offered at the Mecca Masjid led by the martyr’s maternal uncle.
The funeral prayers were attended by a large number of Pakistani community members, including Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United States Asim Iftikhar, Consul General in New York Aamir Ahmed Atuzai, and other diplomatic officers and staff.
Earlier, the Imam of Mecca Masjid, Qari Osama, while addressing the gathering, said that the world is mortal, and no one knows when and where his death is destined, so we should focus on preparing for the hereafter.
The body of martyr Major Syed Ismail Shah has been sent to Pakistan from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport after offering funeral prayers. Major Ismail Shah will be buried in the local graveyard of his native Parwak area.
