
NEWYORK: Association of Pakistani Physician in North America, a Pakistani doctors’s organization in America, organized an annual residents and fellows guidance program to guide new doctors in which new young doctors were provided information as how they can obtain residency in the country.
A large number of young doctors participated in the annual residents and fellows guidance program organized by the APPNA New York Chapter, the largest organization of Pakistani doctors in the United States, at a private restaurant in Queens.
APPNA New York Chapter President Dr. Tariq Jamil, Chair Dr. Ghulam Shahzad and Co-Chair Dr. Afzal Maleeh advised the young doctors to move forward with a positive mindset, and APPNA will provide them with all possible support.
Pakistani students and doctors studying in various medical universities in New York asked various questions to the program directors consisting of experts.
Dr. Saleem Shahzad, Dr. Rizwan Naeem and Dr. Hassan Dogar informed the young doctors that they should prepare well for their studies and interviews along with getting better marks in their exams.
The program directors also shared their experiences. APPNA’s central president Dr. Babar Rao, Dr. Ahmed Rehan, Dr. Sudheesh Ramdas and Dr. Intazam Khan informed the young doctors that the recommendation letter does not have to be two or three pages, and any kind of gap in the professional education could become an obstacle.
In the residents and fellows guidance program, young doctors were told that body language is very important in interviews. The experts asked young doctors to always go well prepared and be confident.
The experts also advised the young physicians to continue their education, internships, as well as participate in various conferences. The young doctors welcomed the organization of the program.
