NEWYORK: A non-Muslim American woman voluntarily converted to Islam after being inspired by the effective and eloquent talk of Dr. Sabeel Ahmed at the Darul Quran Center Masjid organized by the Islamic Circle of North America’s Da’wah Department, Gain Peace.

A meaningful and impactful open door Da’wah program was organized by the Islamic Circle of North America’s Da’wah Department, Gain Peace, at the Masjid of the Darul Quran Center located in Long Island, New York.

Not only did members of the Muslim community participate but a large number of local non-Muslims also participated in this spiritual gathering, setting an example of interfaith harmony and understanding.

Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, the spiritual leader of Gain Peace, a distinguished scholar and preacher, shed light on the basic beliefs of Islam in a very eloquent and effective manner.

He explained the importance of monotheism and said, “Islam is the only religion that calls humanity to worship only one God. Shirk, i.e., associating partners with God, is the biggest sin in Islam.”

He said that Islam is a continuation of the call of Prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses, Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), and the last prophet, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him).

He said that Muslims respect Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), consider him a prophet of God, but do not accept him as the son of God.

He called monotheism the central message of all religions and said that all prophets came with the same mission and that was the call to the oneness of God.

A question-and-answer session was also held during the program, in which the participants asked questions. Dr. Sabil Ahmed answered the questions with great patience and wisdom.

He emphasized that whether someone accepts our call or not, we should maintain harmony with each other and keep trying to understand each other’s religions.

The atmosphere during his talk was very quiet and attentive, and soon as the program near to its end, a non-Muslim woman stood up from her seat and announced that she wanted to convert to Islam.

Dr. Sabeel Ahmed announced that our sister is accepting Islam of her own free will. He said that at this moment, all her previous sins have been erased, and she is the purest person in the sight of Allah. After this announcement, the women came forward and hugged the newly converted sister, congratulated her, and expressed their love, saying that from today, you are part of our family.

A woman from a church participating in the program expressed her thoughts and said that I came from a church and wanted that such programs shall continue. She also invited all the participants to come to her church.
