Women to women forum organizes Gala dinner to raise funds for Shehzori house project

NEWJERSEY: The seventh women empowerment Gala dinner was organized by the women to women forum in New Jersey to raise funds for the Shehzori House Project.
The event was started with recitation of Taha Salman. The women empowerment gala was moderated by Sarah Amir in which she informed about the services provided to homeless and destitute women and their children under the Shehzori House Project.
Founder and President of Women to Women Forum Nusrat Sohail delivered the welcome remarks and said that the Shehzori House Project works 24/7 and it not only solves the problems of women but also provides shelter, food and education for the children of the helpless and destitute women under this forum.
She said we are also working on more programs while the institutions of Pakistan have also appreciated our services.
Nusrat Sohail said that the Shehzori House project has been running for seven years with the immense support of Masjid Al Wali and the community.
She said that now the forum was expanding the project, for which we also need funding from the community.
Councilwoman Tayyaba Sultana, a Pakistani-origin woman from the state of Pennsylvania, told the story of her homelessness. She told the audience that she had been a victim of domestic violence, but Shehzori House had changed her life.
Addressing the audience on this occasion, Benesh Ambreen, the fundraising committee member at the Women empowerment gala, also raised funds for Shehzori House and appealed for maximum cooperation.
She said that empowering any woman not only enriches her life but also secures the future of her children.
Bushra Salman, a board member of the Women to Women Forum, welcomed and thanked all the guests, including the American official, for their arrival.
She said that it is not possible to run this project alone, with the support of Masjid Al Wali and all the donors, they have successfully run this project.
On this occasion, Nusrat Sohail appreciated the role of the women who have rendered their services in the Shehzori House project and a group photo was also taken.
Shama Haider, the first Pakistani-American assemblywoman elected from New Jersey, and Fauzia Janjua, the first Pakistani-American mayor elected from Mount Laurel Township, also participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the audience, she said that the Women to Women Forum has set an example in solving the problems of South Asian women.
A documentary on Shehzori House was also shown at the Women Empowerment Gala, in which destitute women told their stories, which the participants not only watched with interest but also appreciated the services of Shehzori House.
Awards were given to participants who worked with Shehzori House at the ceremony, including Siraj Vohra of Masjid Al Wali, Maqbool Mansoori, Dr. Fawzia Afzal, Dr. Saima Abrar Bhatta and Faiza Agha.
The participants appreciated the services of Shehzori House and assured further cooperation.
Dr. Amna Saqib, Shazia Anam and others from APNA New Jersey, who participated in the Women empowerment gala, also expressed their views. The speakers said that Shehzori House provides shelter to homeless and destitute women, which is a beacon of light for the society.
Later, Danish Ahmed, Farzana and Nuzhat Iqbal presented songs of different singers in their own voices, which were appreciated by the participants.
