NYC assembly, senate declare March 19 th as Pakistani American business day, March 23 rd as Pakistani American heritage day

NEWYORK: The American Pakistani Advocacy Group has achieved another historic milestone. Through APAG’s efforts, the New York State Assembly and Senate have declared March 19 th as Pakistani American Business Day and March 23rd as Pakistani American Heritage Day.

The efforts of the American Pakistani Advocacy Group have borne fruit.

The New York State Assembly and Senate members acknowledged the outstanding services of the Pakistani community.

With the efforts of APAG, two important resolutions introduced by Assemblyman Nader Sayegh and Senator John Liu were passed.

Assemblyman Nader Sayegh presented a resolution in the House to celebrate Pakistan American Heritage on March 23, which was passed.

During the proceedings of the meeting, Pakistani Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Khan, Consul General Amir Ahmed Atuzai, APAG President Ali Rashid and their entire team were also present, who were also holding green crescent flags in their hands and all appeared to be filled with the spirit of patriotism.

Later, the celebration of the approval of the resolutions was celebrated, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Addressing participants of the event, APAG President Ali Rashid gave a briefing on the functioning and activities of his organization.

He said that we are always striving to involve Pakistani Americans in political activities, empower women, exchange civilizations and cultures and highlight the positive face of Pakistan.

During the meeting, the Pakistani community discussed issues of mutual interest with members of the New York State Assembly.

Pakistani Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and Consul General Amir Ahmed Atuzai highly appreciated the efforts of APAG and termed the approval of these resolutions as historic.

Assemblymen Nader Sayegh, Assemblymen David Weprin and Assemblymen Jenifer Rajkumar, who played a key role in presenting the resolution in the assembly and its approval, also addressed the ceremony.

The assembly members acknowledged APAG’s unwavering service to humanity. They said that be it the most difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic or any festival of joy, APAG has always been active in community services.

APAG Youth Chapter’s Sultan Rashid and Tehmina Khan from Women Chapter also spoke at the event.

They said that APAG has strengthened the relationship between the Pakistani and American communities through its social activities, which is a very positive change.

Assemblyman Nader Sayegh presented the proclamation of the resolution passed by the assembly in the presence of Pakistani Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Consul General Amir Ahmed Atuzai and APAG President Ali Rashid. Later, APEG organized an Iftar dinner in honor of its team and guests.
