PMDC directs medical colleges to establish their own nursing colleges and train nurses

NEWYORK: The Pakistani American Public Affairs Committee APPAC’s efforts to recruit Pakistani nurses to the United States have borne fruit. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has directed all medical colleges to establish their own nursing colleges and train nurses.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has directed all approved medical colleges through a letter to establish nursing colleges as per the council’s standards.

The letter stated that many colleges are preparing the necessary infrastructure for the nursing program, in the meantime, medical colleges are temporarily allowed to train nurses with their available facilities.

PMDC has also directed these colleges to take special care that the classes of medical students are not affected.

It is pertinent to mention that APPAC played a key role in initiating the training of Pakistani nurses.

There were millions of vacancies for nurses in the US, on which Pakistani nurses can start a bright future by getting jobs in the US after receiving high-quality training and passing the necessary exams.

APPAC had also visited Pakistan last year along with New York State Assembly Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos and his team, in which they met with the Chief Ministers and Provincial Assembly Speakers of Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recommended the passage of a resolution.
