NEWYORK: Pakistan People Party USA leaders said that the PPP is not only the voice of the oppressed and deprived people but also a symbol of Pakistan’s strength and stability.
They were addressing the 57th founding anniversary ceremony held at Coney Island Avenue’s private hotel. The event was moderated by the PPP senior leader Raja Asad.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasul Maqbool (SAW).
A large number of PPP office bearers, party workers and sympathizers attended the ceremony.
Addressing the participants, PPP USA President Khalid Awan said that the PPP was established in difficult times, fought against dictatorship and set examples for democratic struggle, which will be remembered.
PPP USA Senior Vice President Rukhsana Sohail, Senior Vice President Jamshed Gujjar, New York President Zafar Chatha, Information Secretary Sohail Tipu and others also spoke at the Foundation Day ceremony.
The speakers said that the PPP is a party that represent people’s rights. They said that no matter what the circumstances, party leaders and workers have made countless sacrifices to restore democratic values and traditions but has never compromised on principles.
The PPP veterans who participated in the ceremony also shared their memories on the Foundation Day and renewed their pledge to remain steadfast with the party leadership.
Sindhi Culture Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Foundation Day ceremony. Party leaders and workers were given Ajraks, a symbol of Sindhi culture. Finally, the followers of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto also cut a cake to mark the 57th Foundation Day of the party.
