NEWYORK: Pakistani community celebrated Donald Trump’s victory in US presidential elections in the New York and congratulated Republican candidate Amir Sultan for tough contesting the state assembly constituency of New York’s District 10.
New Life Minority Human Rights Council organized an event to celebrate Republican candidate Donald Trump’s victory in presidential elections and tough contest by the Republican candidate Amir Sultan for seat of New York’s state assembly from District 10.
Pakistani American community’s social and business personalities and people from different walks of life participated in the event.
Pakistani origin’s Amir Sultan secured 26,000 votes in a tough contest with the Democratic candidate.
Addressing participants, he said that the representation of the Pakistani community in government houses is very important and we believe that the young generation will definitely fill this gap.
The first police inspector of Pakistani- American community in the New York Police Adeel Rana and well-known social personality Naheed Bhatti also participated in the event.
They said that we have to participate not only in the political system but also in the electoral process at civic, state and federal level for effective representation of community and securing our rights.
New Life Minority Human Rights Council’s chairperson Raheela Aslam, senior leader Dr. Salma Kausar and others also expressed their views.
They said that Amir Sultan has secured large number of votes in the elections and proved himself that he will ensure his success in next elections.
The guests of the ceremony and the Republican candidate, Amir Sultan also cut the cake together to celebrate the win of Donald Trump as US president.
