NEWYORK: Grandson of the great poet and philosopher of Pakistan Allama Mohammad Iqbal, Senator Waleed Iqbal arrived in Queens, New York to visit the road named after his grandfather Allama Iqbal.
Pakistani Senator Waleed Iqbal arrived at the residence of Ali Rashid, President of the American Pakistani Advocacy Group, where a special luncheon was organized in his honor.
APAG’s President Ali Rashid informed Senator Waleed Iqbal about the working of organization and its objectives.
It is pertinent to mention that a year ago in the Queens area, a road was named after Allama Mohammad Iqbal, which was a matter of proud for the Pakistani community in the New York.
The visit of Senator Waleed Iqbal further strengthened the sentiments of the Pakistani community for love of their homeland as they shown a keen interest to see the monument of great poet and philosopher in New York city.
Senator Waleed Iqbal visited the monument and also prayed after seeing his grandfather’s memorial. On this occasion, members of the Pakistani community met Senator Waleed Iqbal and took pictures with him. They also cut a cake to commemorate this historic moment.
